Farmstand was founded by Steven Novick, a Milwaukee born Midwesterner who grew up across the street from a farm which inspired his early interest in food and how it was grown (hence the name Farmstand). In 2006 a cancer diagnosis motivated Steven to pursue his life-long dream of running a healthy online and offline food business.
Farmstand provides a wide variety of healthy options to choose from, including a ‘build your own’ box offering, which has up to 52,000 menu combinations. The entire menu is free from gluten, dairy, hormones and antibiotics and all of the beef, chicken and lamb they use comes from naturally fed, humanely treated animals. The menu is also very veggie friendly:
- 85% their menu is vegetarian (80% of which is vegan)
- 5% of their menu is fish
- The remaining 10% of their menu is other meats (with the exception of pork)
On a lazy weekend afternoon, we sprung for the delivery service and ordered the Lamb Meatballs, Smoked Paprika & Tomatoes; the Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Ginger & Coconut Yoghurt; and the Buckwheat Tabbouleh, Fennel, Cucumber & Pickled Lemon, all of which were scrumptious.
Farmstand operates 12 stands across London and one flagship farmstand restaurant in Covent Garden.
