Grooming essentials for the discerning gentlemanMonroe of London is a quintessentially British men's skincare range designed for men, by men. Born out of a passion for high quality products that are beautifully and faultlessly designed, this collection of dual-purpose products and skincare essentials are as hardworking as they are stylish. All of the products within the range have been handcrafted in the UK and have been developed in collaboration with the Harley Street Skin Clinic to ensure efficacy. The brand was developed by founders Luke and Gareth who wanted to create a brand that all men can use. Having each spent 20 years immersed in fashion photography, they were exposed to an industry focused on image and looking good. Taking an egalitarian approach, Luke and Gareth have decided to bring that focus out from behind the lens to share with like minded men in Britain and beyond. Products within the range that I tried included:
I loved all of the products, especially the pore minimiser, which helped reduced the appearance of large pores on my nose. Best of all, the dual purpose products are great for travelling, which means less toiletries to pack - handy when it comes to most airlines' strict liquid allowances. All of the products had a neutral fragrance (apart from the cleanser, which has a nice, peppermint fragrance), which will be welcomed by those who don't like heavily scented products. For a simple regime that's easy to stick to (and looks great on your bathroom shelf, too), you can't go wrong with any of the Monroe of London products. Bradley Miln

Being a proud beard owner, I'm always looking for new products to keep my beard in tip-top shape. I've recently discovered two products that are a must-have for beards everywhere - the Kent Brushes Beard Brush and Alchemy Oils Peppermint Beard Remedy, which when combined, give you the tools you need for a well-groomed look.
Kent Brushes Beard Brush Beards are back, which is why after a 100-year hiatus, the Kent Brushes Beard Brush (RRP £20) is making a triumphant return. The beech wood handled brush has been designed with comfort in mind, with a perfectly shaped angled brush and bristles cut into an ergonomic wedge to make grooming both simple and enjoyable. Whether your beard's thin or thick, the soft brush bristles will glide through your beard with ease to keep your beard looking its best. The brush comes in a cool retro raw cardboard box with illustrations by Icelandic artist André Visage and there's a cotton drawstring pouch to keep your brush protected when you're on the go. www.kentbrushes.com Alchemy Oils Peppermint Beard Remedy British brand Alchemy Oils has created the all-natural Peppermint Beard Remedy (RRP £21, 40ml), which will promote growth, plus soften and tame even the most unruly beards. The potent blend of five natural oils including argan, coconut and avocado (which work in sync to condition and hydrate), plus rosehip (to improve skin condition) and peppermint oil (to promote hair growth by improving blood circulation, which increases the supply of oxygen to help that beard become nice and thick). The beard oils comes in an attractive bottle and although it lacks a pipette, which other brands offer, its consistency makes it easy to apply. Once applied, the appealing minty fragrance is very soothing on the skin and my beard. The long-lasting scent helps to keep your beard smelling fresh all day long, something I didn't think of before, but it's a nice touch! www.alchemyoils.co.uk Kevin Darvishi
You can't go wrong with a classic Harris tweed jacket, when it comes to looking sharp. Harris Tweed is a cloth that has been made from pure virgin wool that has been dyed, spun, handwoven and finished by islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. To ensure authenticity, Harris Tweed is protected by the Harris Tweed Act of Parliament 1993, which strictly outlines the conditions in which the cloth can genuinely be made.
We've recently discovered Walker Slater, a Scottish brand which specialises in creating classic, yet modern men's clothing from formal wear to casual clothing. We love their range of well-made Harris tweed jackets that can be dressed up or down, making it the perfect range for discerning gents looking for quality wardrobe staples. From left to right: Burgundy Plain Harris Tweed (£285.00) and Scottish Edward Jacket - Grey Multicheck Shetland Tweed (£265). www.walkerslater.com A.A. Miln 0 Comments Ted Baker’s recent foray into the male grooming arena has proved to be a hit! With nine Ted's Grooming Room locations scattered around London’s West-End and The City, it's the perfect destination for sharp haircuts, smooth hot towel shaves and other male grooming treatments. Aiming to provide a 'safe haven for men in need of restoration', it avoids feeling overly gimmicky by providing great service in a cool, unfussy environment. This range of concept salons was inspired by Ted Baker's personal quest for the perfect traditional Turkish shave during a visit to Istanbul. Dating back to the time of the ‘Efes’ and the Ottoman Empire, the art of Turkish barbering is a skill handed down from generation to generation and a master barber only passes on his title to his apprentice after many years of training. Now Londoners can get the perfect Turkish shave - without a trip to Istanbul, thanks to this invigorating and signature experience, which offers the ultimate Turkish experience.
