While at first the liberal use of the word AMAZING is a bit off putting, you do feel calmer and more positive after reading the each entry, so it must work on some level, even if it isn't very subtle.
My favourite tip in the book was the mantra, 'I can do it, I am doing it, it is done, it is amazing.' I find these words particularly helpful when faced with a task that at first glance seems overwhelming.
I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone in need of a pep talk to banish negative thoughts for good.
